Flame Lamination

The process of flame lamination is foam is passed over an open flame to create a thin layer of molten polymer. The Polymer acts as an adhesive and will fix itself to textiles. This bond of foam to vinyl and various textiles without compromising the fabrics quality and intended purpose.

There is also the option of lamination a spunbond backing to the back of the foam.  Spunbond is a nonwoven fabric that forms a web-like structure. Having spunbond laminated to the back of the foam allows for a smooth backing which stops thread ripping through the foam when stitching.  This smooth surface is also useful if using any adhesives as the adhesive is able to bond to the spunbond, rather than bleed through the foam.
